The road ahead
Three metals, each slower than the last, and a machine for every step. Everything in BSP-Core is built from them.

The three metals
| Metal | Where | Needs | Refined in | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tetrium | Stone and deepslate, y −32 to 80 | Iron pickaxe | Tetrium Crucible, Combination Forge | Plates, chassis, circuits: the parts of every machine |
| Illyrium | Deep underground, y −64 to −16 | Diamond pickaxe | Illyrium Crucible, Illyrium Refinery | Processors, the coin factory, top-tier cables and batteries |
| Magnatite | Mostly deepslate, y −64 to 8 | Diamond pickaxe | Magnetic Centrifuge | Charged ingots and Carbon Dust for every cable, battery and plasma block |
The order to work in
- Tetrium first. It is everywhere and quick: a crucible and a forge, and you are making plates, chassis and circuits. Keep the slag: it becomes the bricks in every chassis.
- Illyrium next. It comes one nugget at a time: smelt the ore in lava, crush the dirty ingot, wash the dust, alloy it back. The dirty metal is useful on its own: it presses the dies for the coin factory and the centrifuge.
- Magnatite in between. The Magnetic Centrifuge separates the ore, and with a coil in it charges the ingots.
- Shatter Coins: the Shatter Coin Factory is the end-game machine all of this builds toward.
Several recipes need metal dust: see Dust and crushing.
