Switching servers

All BSP mods Servers

Move from one BSP server to another and you bring yourself with you. Here is exactly what travels, and what stays.

What travels with you

Inventory Everything you carry, your armour, offhand, the selected slot and the item on your cursor
Ender chest All of it
Experience Levels, progress and score
You Health, hunger, saturation, air, effects, game mode and flight
Advancements Without giving their rewards a second time
Mod data Curios slots, Sophisticated Backpacks (even backpacks inside backpacks), Dank Storage, known waystones, Mekanism radiation and other mods' per-player data

What stays on each server

  • Your respawn point (bed or respawn anchor).
  • Your statistics and recipe book.

Your Shatter Totem

Your totem is never copied by the sync, so it can never be duplicated. BSP-Core carries it separately:

  • On a teleport or Teleport Band move to another server, it travels with you and is handed back when you arrive, even into a full inventory. A totem in your ender chest is kept too.
  • On an ordinary logout it is placed in the world where you stood. See Stealing and defending.

While your items load

When you arrive on a server you are held still for a moment while your items load: no moving, clicking, picking up, dropping or taking damage, for at most 10 seconds.

  • After a second the action bar shows "Loading your items...".
  • Commands wait: "Your items are still loading. Try again in a moment."
  • Anything you toss while waiting comes back to you.
  • If the wait runs out you are told your items may be out of date. Tell an admin if anything is missing.

Deaths

If you die, your data is saved after you respawn, once your drops have left your inventory. If you arrive dead, you get your items and any totem owed to you after you respawn.

Items from a missing mod

If a server does not have the mod an item comes from, the item shows as a named barrier placeholder. It cannot be crafted, traded or placed. Keep it: it turns back into the real item on a server that has the mod.

Describes BSP-InventorySync 0.1.0, BSP-Velocity Additions 0.2.0 and BSP-Core 1.6.2. Numbers are the defaults; the server's settings may differ.
