Land and claims

All BSP mods

Buy a plot, and you decide who may build, break and open chests on it.

Two ways to buy land

The server sells land in two ways:

  • Plots for sale. Ready-made plots at a set price. They show in amber on the Land Office map.
  • Open ground. Areas where you mark out your own plot and pay by the block. They show dashed on the map. A plot can be from 5 by 5 up to 64 by 64 blocks (by default), and always runs the full height of the world. Plots may touch but never overlap.

You can own 3 claims by default. Higher ranks can own more, and some areas cap how many plots one player may own inside them.

Plots for sale and open areas are marked in the world with their name over the middle, so they are easy to find.

Buying a plot

  1. Walk up to a Land Office and right-click it. It shows a map of the ground around you, drawn from the terrain: plots for sale in amber, open ground dashed, your own claims in green.
  2. For a plot for sale: click it to see its size and price, then press BUY and confirm.
  3. For open ground: take the plot tool with /claim tool and click two opposite corners. The Land Office opens by itself with the price of what you marked, and shows how near it is to other plots. Press BUY.

The price comes out of your bank account in Shatter Pieces, by default. If the server prices land in Shatter Coins, the coins come from your inventory instead.

After buying, you are asked whether to teleport to the middle of your new plot.

Running your claim

Open your claim card with /claim gui, or by sneaking and right-clicking with the plot tool.

  • Members: add the players who may build in your claim.
  • Rules: written as plain sentences, such as "strangers may open chests". Each switch is on, off, or grey, which follows the area's own rule.
  • Messages: a greeting and a farewell for visitors.
  • TELEPORT takes you to the claim, ENLARGE grows it by paying for the extra ground, and GIVE UP frees the land and returns half of what you paid (by default).

Holding the plot tool shows your own claims, and B shows or hides region outlines.

Claims and raids

A claim protects your builds, not your totem. BSP is a raiding server, so:

  • Near a placed totem, a claim never stops a raider. They can still break in and steal it.
  • A claim cannot hold a Shatter Totem while any of its rules would stop a steal.
  • In a world where totems can be placed, plots are only allowed if that world turns PvP off or the server allows them there.

At the start of a new season the server may clear the claims in a world. You will hear about it first.

Mines

Some areas of the server are mines that refill themselves on a timer, with a warning 60 and 10 seconds before each reset. A mine may have a shell around it where only its own blocks can be dug, and the best mines can be kept for higher ranks.
