Plasma Cables

Plasma moves in runs: a line of cables from an interface to whatever is at its end.

Runs and pressure

Every cable in a run carries the same figure, the run's pressure, in mB/t. Nothing is lost along a cable, however long, up to its reach.

A mixed run goes as far, and carries as much, as its weakest cable. For longer runs, a Plasma Repeater starts a fresh one.

An interface shares what its extractors give equally between the runs leaving it. A run that can take less than its share, because a valve caps it or its end is full, leaves the rest to the others. So two bases on one totem get 50 mB/t each; cap one at 20 and the other gets 80.

Colours

Magnatite, Illyrium and Charged Illyrium cables take any of the sixteen dyes: eight cables round a dye. A coloured cable joins only cables of its own colour, and a plain one only plain ones, so two runs can cross without mixing. Machines take any colour.

Cable ends

Point the Wrench at an end of a cable and right-click to set what that end does:

Sneak and right-click puts an end back to Normal. While you hold the wrench, a line above the crosshair names the end you point at and its setting. Sneak and right-click the core of a cable to pick it up with its settings kept on the item.

The Wrench also turns repeaters, valves, chargers, batteries and placed totems in place.
