Joining the server
Five minutes from nothing to standing at spawn with your Shatter Totem in hand.
1. Install the modpack
BSP is a modpack, so you play it through the CurseForge app rather than the normal Minecraft launcher on its own.
- Download and install the CurseForge app.
- Open it, choose Minecraft, and search for Build Secure Protect. Or open the modpack page and press Install.
- Press Install, wait for the download, then press Play. The Minecraft launcher opens with the pack ready.
TIP BSP has nearly 300 mods, so the first start takes a while. Let it finish loading before you click anything.
2. Add the server
- In Minecraft, open Multiplayer and press Add Server.
- Paste the address into Server Address:
minecraft.buildsecureprotect.comCOPY IP - Press Done, then Join Server.
3. What you get
The moment you join for the first time you are given:
- Your Shatter Totem. The only one you will ever be given. It cannot be crafted, so look after it. See Your Shatter Totem.
- The guide book, which explains every block and machine in BSP-Core in game.
- 500 Shatter Pieces in your bank account: the everyday money for shops, kits and land.
The server may hand you a starter kit as well. If your inventory is full it waits for you: open the kit browser with the KITS button in the top-left corner of your inventory, or type /kits.
4. Choose your main server
BSP has four servers to build a base on: Frostwarf, BoulderBrook, Moongrove and Stormfall. The first time you head for one, you are asked to choose your main server. It is one choice, free, for ever: your base goes there, and you always have access to it. Every other server you rent for a while or buy outright with Access Tokens from the shops.
A tenth hotbar slot after the usual nine opens your teleports: homes, warps, players, your team and a random spot on any server. Scroll past the last slot, or press . (by default), then right-click.
5. Next
Read the server rules, then carry on to Your Shatter Totem. Questions? Ask on the Discord.
