Money

All BSP mods

BSP has two kinds of money. Coins power your totem; pieces pay for everything else.

Two currencies

Shatter Coins Shatter Pieces
What they are Items, in five tiers A balance in your bank account, never an item
Made by Pressing them yourself, in real hours Converting coins, selling to shops, payments
Spent on Totem tiers and powers Shops, land, kits, deposit boxes, payments
Can be stolen? Yes, from a Coin Vault Never

Shatter Coins

There are five coins, one for each totem tier: Copper, Gold, Diamond, Netherite and Illyrium. Each is worth twice the one before.

You make them yourself. A coin starts as a Shatter Blank, is built up into a tier's coin blank, and is then pressed in the Shatter Coin Factory. Pressing takes real time, and carries on while you are offline:

Coin Press time, by default
Copper 8 hours
Gold 16 hours
Diamond 32 hours
Netherite 64 hours
Illyrium 96 hours

The factory is an end-game machine built from the three BSP metals: start with Tetrium and work up. See Metals and machines in the wiki.

Keeping coins: vault or bank

You have two choices, and they trade risk for reward.

  • A Coin Vault pays interest: XP levels and Tetrium Ingots for the coins stored, and Illyrium Ingots once you keep a Netherite or Illyrium coin in it. Interest builds while you are offline, up to three days' worth: press Redeem to collect it. But a vault can be robbed. Anyone without access can pick its lock (2 minutes, plus 1 for each lock level you buy) and take a quarter of the coins.
  • The bank keeps coins safe from raids, but pays no interest.

Shatter Pieces and the bank

Pieces are the everyday money. They only exist in your bank account, so nobody can ever steal them, and the same balance follows you to every server.

  • You start with 500 pieces at your first login.
  • Convert coins at a Shatter Bank: a Copper coin becomes 1,000 pieces (by default), and each higher tier is worth double the one below. Converting is one way: pieces never turn back into coins.
  • Pay anyone on the network, online or not. Large payments ask you to confirm, and you can refuse incoming payments.
  • The transaction log lists what you bought and sold and who you paid, with filters and a search. It is kept for 90 days.

The Shatter Bank is the ATM at spawn: right-click it to open your account. A Portable Banker in your pocket does the same from anywhere. Unlock its Shopping Network (12 Netherite coins, by default) and every shop on the network opens from wherever you stand. Commands work as a backup: /bank, /bank pay, /bank log.

Shops

Shops are wherever the server puts them: a Vendor Post, a Market Stall, or a Stall Display floating the wares above it. Right-click one to open it.

To Do this
Buy Left-click a card
Sell Right-click a card
Sell every full stack Shift and right-click

Each card shows the price to buy in gold, the price to sell dimmer beside it, and a star when it buys instantly. A corner count such as 3/4 shows how many you can still buy (green) or the shop will still take (amber); limits refill by a rule, such as daily or weekly. Some shops rotate what they sell, and some cards need a rank or playtime. See Shops.

The Safety Deposit Box

For the things you cannot afford to lose, rent your own box at a Safety Deposit Box cabinet beside the bank. The same box opens from every cabinet on the network, and what is inside is safe at all times.

  • Rent is paid by the day, in pieces or coins, for as long ahead as you like.
  • A box starts with 6 slots. Buy 3 more at a time, up to 18.
  • If the rent runs out nothing is lost, but the box is locked until you pay again, plus a holding fee for every day it sat unpaid.
  • Coins and totems cannot go in a box: the bank keeps coins, and totems belong in the world.
